Our beautiful and unique barn, built in 1810, is nestled in the heart of historic Ashton-Sandy Spring, Maryland. Originally settled by Quakers in the 1700s, this charming suburb offers a blend of rural tranquility and urban convenience. BIG BARN 1810's rich history, large flexible spaces, and rustic textures add a touch of timeless charm to your next creative project. Its unique character has been lovingly preserved with renovations in 1883 and 2015.

BARN FEATURES

  • Ceiling hight: 45 ft at center; 25 ft in the northern and southern edges.

CONVENIENCE


  • Changing Room: The Barn offers a private changing room for your convenience, ensuring a comfortable space for costume changes and getting ready.
  • Parking: Ample parking space for up to 30 cars.
  • Accessibility: Direct access for load-in/load-out; large enough for trucks.
  • After-hours: The Barn can be booked after nightfall and into the wee hours of the morning.

GETTING TO THE BARN


The Barn is located just off New Hampshire Ave (MD Route 650), with convenient proximity to Washington DC, Rockville, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia.

NEARBY


CVS, 7-Eleven, Sandy Spring Bank, Exxon gas station, and several shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the barn. A few minutes drive would take you to Olney Village Center’s large shopping area that includes Safeway, Giant, Harris Teeter, 24-Hour CVS, Walgreens, the UPS Store as well as many banks, shops, cafes, restaurants and gas stations.

HOUSE RULES


  • No smoking or open flames inside the barn. Smoke and fog machines are permitted.
  • Respect Our Neighbors: Please minimize noise and traffic disruption in this residential area.
  • Visiting the active farm next the barn, or including the farm in your production work is possible with prior arrangement.
  • The adjacent farm is protected by an electric fence. Please coordinate all visits or farm-related productions.
  • Parking: Park only in the designated areas within the property. Do not drive or park on driveways, lawns or neighboring properties.
